Mens Volleyball
Shoes
To play
most sports you need certain essential items. One of
those is typically a uniform. Volleyball gear is fairly
straightforward. Most volleyball players wear shorts and
a t-shirt while playing.
Usually the
t-shirt has the team name or colors. Kneepads are also
commonly worn in the event that a player has to dive for
a ball. Not everyone chooses to wear them,
however.
For those
considering playing volleyball, the most important item
is the shoes. They need to have the right amount of
comfort and stability so that the player’s feet are
supported throughout the game.
Good men’s
volleyball shoes are similar to running shoes. They
should have a few specific characteristics, such as good
arch support, secure lacings and a sturdy
design.
There are
many brands available on the market that will get work,
but it’s best to stay away from cheap shoes in this case.
The cheaper shoes don’t hold up and can sometimes even be
the cause of falls and injuries.
To get a
good pair of volleyball shoes, one must be willing to pay
for them. If money is an issue, make sure your child only
uses these shoes when practicing or playing volleyball,
and get a different pair for other
activities.
That way
the more expensive shoes will last longer and stay in
better shape. Stability is very important in volleyball
shoes. One aspect of that is how well the sole grips the
floor is something that’s very important to consider when
selecting men’s volleyball shoes.
Most
children in school play volleyball indoors. They need
shoes that allow them to stop quickly and stay in place,
rather than shoes that slip when they have to quickly
change direction to keep up with the
ball.
No one
wants to skid across the floor when trying to stop for a
ball. Volleyball players need to be fast and light on
their feet; able to change directions quickly and
easily.
In that
respect, good men’s volleyball shoes are also similar to
basketball shoes. These shoes don’t need too much care in
general. They may need to be cleaned every once in a
while, and when they do using dish soap and warm water
works quite well.
All you
need to do is wipe the surface of the shoes. Soft
bristled toothbrushes are good for stubborn scuff marks
if there are any on the shoes. The material can’t be
ripped, though or the toothbrush won’t
help.
Other than
a basic cleaning, the shoes won’t need much care. They
should be broken in some during practice, so make sure to
have your child wear then a few times before playing a
game in them. If the new shoes are very stiff, they can
get blisters.
No one
wants to get blisters, but if it’s going to happen it’s
much better to get them in practice than in the middle of
a very important game.
